A data point that validates my predictions on the metaverse — according to KPMG data released Thursday, most enterprise leaders are taking a cautious approach to investing. Quoting CIO Dive:
Almost two-thirds of executives say they are waiting for competitors to invest in and/or adopt metaverse technologies before investing themselves.
Resource constraints are contributing to adoption delays. Nearly 7 in 10 businesses with plans to adopt the metaverse and Web3 say they’ll outsource and/or partner with tech companies instead of building capabilities in-house.
Why do we care?
This is about eliminating distractions – the metaverse is currently a distraction for most. Enterprise organizations are being careful here. Why? They’re waiting to see practical applications. It would help if you took this advice yourself. There’s much noise here. Please ignore it.
