Something positive about Technology.
A recent survey of 10,000 IT professionals, office employees, and C-suite executives found that 49 percent of participants expressed dissatisfaction with work-provided technology, and 26 percent considered leaving their jobs due to frustration. The study also found that 42 percent of employees have paid for technology out of their own pockets as a workaround to inadequate technology—this is from Ivanti’s State of Digital Employee Experience.
I recently released my Good Better Best model for linking technology spend to line items in a Profit and Loss statement. I intentionally chose “Good” for handling IT as an expense because I feel it’s necessary and table stakes.
The data here validates that – because technology is so baked into modern businesses, those doing a poor job of delivering are actually driving employees away. That’s important. Link that to data from last week – customers will leave your IT services firm if you aren’t doing the basics.
We’ve clearly identified the “table stakes” line for technology services.
