Zoom is coming to Google Nest, Amazon Echo, and Facebook Portal smart displays. The company has announced that the rollout will happen later this year.
Why do we care?
These smart devices are about to get a whole lot more functional, and with the low cost of Amazon and Google’s offerings, that just screams opportunity for me, particularly in small and microbusinesses.
There’s the whole “ubiquitous computing” angle as well. Rather than needing a versatile computing device, these simpler edge devices do the job. There are a number of use cases that come to mind, and I’d expect some creativity here to unlock those opportunities.
One of which is for some elderly family members who struggle with Zoom I’ll be considering for this.
